Random thoughts from a PR/Marketing Guru turned non-profit worker traveling the world helping homeless street kids.

It seems every day when I logon to the internet to read about what has been happening in the world. I seem to always be confronted by a story about what some crazy democrate activist has done. But I never read these on mainline press sites, it seems to only make it onto local press sites. It got so bad, that I started to keep a log:

A swastika was burned into the grass of a Bush-Cheney supporter just because he had a Bush-Cheney campaign sign in HIS front lawn.

Both in Columbus, Ohio and Delaware, they have somehow registered more democratic voters in numbers than the census says there are people that live there.

The Washington State Republican party headquarters was broken into and 3 laptops were stolen. But several other laptops were left behind. The only laptops that were stolen were the ones belonging to the top three leaders.

More than 1,000 democrat voter registration forms and absentee ballot requests may be fradulent in Lake and Summit counties, where investigations of irregularities are broadening. Allegations are tied to ACT and NAACP.

Kerry supporters ransack GOP headquarters in Orlando and two people are injured as they are beat up by these Kerry supporters.

A Pro Kerry force invades a GOP victory center, scream over bullhorns and refuse to leave.

I find this crazy that people who call themselves democrats are trying so hard to destroy the democratic process through intimidation, violence, fear, larceny and much more.

Kerry Supporters are really showing their true colors and the true color is that they are JERKS.

Yes, I stand against anyone who uses violence.

My next statement really comes from my years overseas (outside the US). I believe the United States is no longer a two party country. The quicker we get away from a two party system, the better our country will be. If you want I can start another blog about how I think the US will be better both govermentally and economically as a multi-party nation, I can do that.

I guess I started this blog only because this past week it seemed to be getting worse.

Excuse me but I called you no names. I would expect the same courtesy from you.

Absolutely. Happy to edit the original post.

Thank you!

Hear here, I agree 100%, our closest allies have more than TWO parties, and their systems are better for it, considering they don't have as such a big divide as we do.

I sport a Bush bumper sticker and a repub. elephant pin but I dont install a sign in my yard since my neighborhood is predominatly Jewish and some none Cuban Hispanics. Many Kerry signs abound. Since my wife will be running for County Commissioner in two years we dont want to alienate potential voters, even though the Miami-Dade County Commissioners are a none partisan (like hell, they are) election(s).

Talk about grass is greener on the other side of the fence syndrome.  Yes, those stable governments like Italy and France and Germany. Why, they've had the same governments now for a few decades in a row... Ours has only lasted for over 2 centuries.

I am talking about England (though England does have some problems with it's system), sorry I don't offer respect to France, and Germany I am wary off. Italians are Italians.

Anyways, I am talking about putting more parties in power to balance out the two in power now, it would keep them lean and mean, instead of how they are now.

ahhhh. you forgot about the UK.... how long have they had their govenment. The countries you list had gone through changes in gov't because of war.
on Oct 07, 2004

UK's system has evolved as well and they effectively only have 3 parties really (conservatives, labor, and liberal).

And I don't see anything superior about the British system to the American system. They both have their pros and cons.

then why are only kerry supporters still tarred with the "jerk" label in your article when both sides' extremists use violence, commit vote fraud, vandalize, and try to drown out the other side's speeches?

do you still think that kerry supporters' true colors are jerks? are you going to retract it? or at least mention the democratic hqs vandalized, republicans committing vote fraud, etc?

I think that Kerry supporters are much more overwhelmed by this feeling that the world is going to end if they don't win. Sure, you hear that from people on Bush's side, but it is amazing how mainstream the idea that the world is going to hell is on the left.

Isn't that their stock-in-trade, though, making people believe if you don't do what they want (The world will end in nuclear holocaust)/(The environment will fail and destroy the human race)/(Fascists will take over the world and intern everyone...)?

All this drama and predictions of doom take their toll, and make people feel that there is much more on the line than there really is. Granted, I'm not saying that tactic doesn't get used on both sides, but when you look at the effect it seems to have this election on the left, you'd think they were competing with the Nazi party, instead of the same Republicans they faced in 2000. When I talk to people that are against Kerry, i most often hear derision in their voices. Far too often I hear outright hatred and fear coming from Dems these days.

Why would I retract it when your own candidate (Edwards) called EVERY SINGLE PERSON who votes for Bush has lost their mind and is essentially an idiot. There are many people in this nation that need to get thicker skin. And I don't mention the stuff that the republicans do because there are plenty of other posts that take care of that.
on Oct 08, 2004

You have to wonder why people would do such things. I don't feel proud when Republicans do stupid shit in the name of Republicans, and I'm sure that Democrats feel the same way about these incidents.

Also, Edwards saying those who vote for Bush have lost their minds is simply childish. I won't be surprised if he calls Republicans "total gay ass virgins" next.

Ciperl: "And I don't mention the stuff that the republicans do because there are plenty of other posts that take care of that."

then you're not really "standing" against violence by "anyone", just against the violence by democrats. what you said and what you did are not consistent.
